Environmentally Concerned

Every day thousands of batteries are disposed of in landfills. Batteries contain hazardous and toxic components that will not decompose or breakdown safely in a landfill. Although there are laws against such disposal of Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) and other types of batteries, the public is often unaware of alternative disposal methods. They may also not be aware that they are in violations of the law by disposing of the batteries in their household trash.

Rechargeable battery components can be recycled. Strange as it may seem even fine silverware can be made of this dead useless battery. Many other useful products can also be made from the recycling of these batteries.

Centre Communications is happy to assist in the recycling of these seemingly useless batteries. We have collection boxes at each of our locations and will gladly accept any used rechargeable battery* to be recycled.

We do get satisfaction in knowing that we have helped to reclaim these batteries, lessening the negative impact on our environment and allowing for something useful to be created from what was considered trash.

Centre Communications receives no compensation for this effort. We volunteer our time and other resources to complete this effort.

To learn more click here for the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation web site. You may even find a location more convenient to you to properly dispose of these used batteries. If you are a business and wish to join the program this web site will get you up and running in no time.

We welcome you to bring your batteries in to either of our locations.

Thank you!

* Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd),  Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH),  Lithium Ion (Li-ion),  Small Sealed Lead (Pb)** are accepted
